Loneliness

A happy place

Tough when the past shuts the door behind you.

You know there’s no coming back. You just drag your feet and go on, no choice.

26 years is a life time, that’s the time i spent here. Now someone else will be here… will grow old…will live…

I lived here, and I gave birth to my dreams.

Every corner leaves a trace of an Image; every room smells of Memories.

I’ll take care, i’ll bring them with me.

This… was a happy place.

Inception

I have been waiting for a long time to see the new creation of Mr. Nolan, above all considering it’s an original screenplay.

Nolan wrote, produced and directed the movie and this already shows the kind of complete filmmaker he is.

Plus, you go out from the theater full of questions and while certain plot details are left open on purpose for personal interpretation,

there is a sense of depth and richness to the story that pushes you to see it again.

Nolan shows how a movie with a lot of visual effects, visible and invisible,

can and should have an interesting and challenging story.

At the end of the day this is always why we go to the movies.

Awesome

and of course music, from another master…

“For me, that’s what creativity is; playing with found objects, reconstructing things

that already exist, transforming ideas or stories i already know.

It’s about exploring inwards, examining your existing presumptions,

squinting at the archive of experience from new angles, and hoping for some sort of revelation.

What really matters is whether we as readers continue to think about the things we have read and seen

long after the page is turned”

Siggraph 2010 Computer Animation Festival

While in NY i worked on these two interesting and very different projects,

Barclay’s “Rollercoaster” by The Mill and “UPS Gladiator” by Psyop, and i’m glad they’ve been

showcased in this year’s Siggraph 2010 Computer Animation Festival in Los Angeles

Splice intro making of

From Chezeddy in Paris comes the credits intro sequence for Vincenzo Natali’s Splice.

I love title sequence design and this example is not only visually interesting, but it’s also an important part of the movie itself,

it serves storytelling.

Great work guys!

Audi

These days i’m on a big project for a German client

involving one of the most amazing car designed by Audi, the R8.

I’m exploring different looks and developing worlds from realistic to the most artificial.

Very sad thing though that i will be under strict NDA and won’t be able to

showcase material created probably until 2013… sigh

LuxVonMorgen

I recently signed a contract to be represented by Lux Von Morgen for Germany, Austria and Switzerland markets.

A big thanks to my agents Kerstin and Kristina for inviting me to join a very talented family of artists!

A speech at 2010 VIEW conference

Good news today,

I have been asked to give a speech during the 2010 VIEW Conference, an International event about Visual Effects

that will be held in Turin next October.

I know the caliber of people and studios who are generally there, so this is very flattering to me of course!

As always, I’m not sure in which part of the world i’ll be

but in case Italy will be my home in that period it will be a pleasure for me to attend and

hopefully to provide useful and interesting info about my work and life in this business.

Thanks to the View Conference and Fest team for inviting me to this big event.

If you’re in Paris, this is an exhibition not to be missed,

if you know who Willy Ronis is or if you’re just in love with photography.

He was one of the most known French photographer

and the first one to work for LIFE Magazine.

He died last year at 99.

Portfolio 2010

I’m happy to be able to write this post cause i finally finished my new portfolio 2010.

It’s particularly important to me cause i’ve been now working in this crazy industry for 10 years, and it has been a ride.

A ride made of hard work, never ending learning, meetings, inspiration, passion, colors, enthusiasm…. and flights around the world.

If i look back i’d never thought i would have come to this point

and i can’t but be thankful.

Amazing shortfilm by Ben Briand

When you have talent you really don’t need

huge funds to tell a good story, above all when you collaborate with talented people.

From the actors, cinematography, music and of course overall direction this is a beautiful inspiring shortfilm.
